Voter information for Westmoreland

The Republican Party Presidential Primary will be held on March 6, 2012. Candidates Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are the choices for this years’ Republican nominees.

Deadline to register to vote is Feb. 13. Most people with a voter registration card are registered, but in some cases having a card doesn’t necessarily mean you are registered says, General Registrar, Kristin Hicks. “They may have not voted in a while or they may have been removed

for one reason or another. Most people who have a card are active voters but having a card is no guarantee.”

If you wish to check the status of your voter registration you can call the the registrars office in Westmoreland County at (804) 493-8898 or go online to www.sbe.virginia.gov

In cases where voters are unable to vote on March 6 they can vote by absentee ballot. To vote absentee in person, all residents of Westmoreland County must come to the voter registration office in Montross at 105 Court Square in Montross. To vote by mail go to the website above and click on “Absentee Voting Information” or call the registrars office at (804) 493-8898.

If your current address is up to date with the Registrars office your voter registration card will tell you what District you are located in and where to vote.
