Stabbing results in charge of attempted murder

On Tuesday, Sept. 20 at approximately 9:30 p.m. the Colonial Beach Police Department responded to a 911 call in the area of 11th Street and Myers Avenue in reference to a reported stabbing that had just occured.
According to Chief Kenny Blevins, Sr., upon arrival Cpl. K.W. Blevins Jr., Officers Lee Felts, Amy Molinares and Chris Kerns located a 34 year old male who had been stabbed several times during an altercation.
Colonial Beach Fire and Rescue responded providing first aid before arranging for the victim to be air lifted to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, where surgery was performed and he is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at that location.
The victim was able to provide information at the scene to officers that resulted in the arrest at approximately 10:30 p.m. of 45 year old Luis Angel Ramos Fernandez of Colonial Beach for Attempted 1st Degree Murder. Mr Fernandez is currently being held with no bond at Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, pending arraignment on that charge.
The investigation is continuing that may result in additional charges at a later date.
The Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office also responded to assist.
