Anglers haul in whoppers at the Beach’s rockfish tourney

     

Thank you to all who helped with the Annual Rockfish Tournament this past weekend. The event was co-sponsored by the Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce, Dockside Restaurant, Colonial Beach Yacht Center, Potomac River Charters, and Wilkerson’s Restaurant. Volunteers: Helen Moffett, Patty Hansley, Betty Whitestone, Judy Purkey, Larry Roberson, Jimmy Stanley, Ellis Rose, Mike Hamm, Jamie Geddes, Jordan Grimley, Austin Tippett, Chrissy Tippett, Carey Geddes and Peggy Campbell.
Winners of the Annual Rockfish Tournament held in Colonial Beach:

ADULT: Cash
First Prize -$5,000: Jim Shacklette – 29 7/8 length and 10.8 weight on Saturday.
Second Prize - $2,000: Matt Mathes – 28 3/8 length and 9.2 weight on Sunday.
Third Prize - $1,000: Dave Johnson – 27 length and 9.0 weight on Sunday.
Fourth Prize - $500: Michael Fernandez -28 length and 8.45 weight on Sunday.
Fifth Prize - $250: Timber Wolfe – 27 1/8 length and 8.25 weight on Sunday.

YOUTH: Trophy
Saturday:
First Prize: Jimmy Tippett – Age 6: 28” length – 7.6 lbs.
Second Prize: Josh Hayden – Age 10: 24 3/8” length – 6.45 lbs.
Third Prize: Zach Dorwart – Age 15: 23” length – 4.75 lbs.
Sunday:
First Prize: Jimmy Tippett – Age 6: 27 1/2” length- 7.25 lbs.
Second Prize: Steven Nugent – Age 14: 21 3/8” length – 4.05 lbs.
Third Prize: Patrick Nugent – Age 10: 18 3/4” length – 2.60 lbs.
