Last week when the July 9, 2014 Journal was sent to be printed, the printer's press broke and we had problems with the printed version of the 7-9-14 paper.

However, the press was fixed, and our July 16, 2014 editions are out as usual.

Colonial Beach Welcomes Mr. Hipple

Andrew Hipple

The Colonial Beach School Board is pleased to announce the hire of Andrew S. Hipple as the Colonial Beach Middle/High School Principal effective July 1. Mr. Hipple earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in Agriculture Education and a Master of Education degree through California University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hipple comes to Colonial Beach from Rappahannock County Public Schools where he has worked as an Assistant Principal at both the elementary and secondary level. He was a classroom teacher for ten years in Virginia and Pennsylvania before becoming a school administrator. In addition, Mr. Hipple has been employed as a post-secondary technical school administrator.

Mr. Hipple and his family, wife Melissa, and three teenage children, Britton, 18, Nicholas, 17, and Libby, 13 will be relocating to the Colonial Beach area in June.

“I am excited to begin a new chapter in Colonial Beach Public Schools. It is an honor to serve the Colonial Beach community by working with the School Board to prepare young minds that will serve our community well. I am looking forward to meeting and working with teachers and staff, students, parents, and community members.”
