Nine arrests in “Operation Roll Tide”

The Tri-County Taskforce made nine arrests in Colonial Beach in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Officers from the taskforce began executing three search warrants in the town, starting at 3 a.m., and ending at 7 a.m. in the 100 block of Second St., the 200 block of Vernon St., and the 300 block of Given St.


During the execution of the search warrants, the team seized the following items: two firearms, ammunition, narcotics, stereo equipment, and GPS devices.  Items recovered may be stolen items or may have been used in the commission of a crime.

During the raid, nine arrests were made.  One arrest was a juvenile indicted on two narcotics charges.  No other information is available for that arrest.

Suspects being held with no bond will appear in Westmoreland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations (WCJDR) court on Wednesday, Jan. 30, in order to ensure a speedy appearance before a judge.

Rylynn N. Sauliner, age 20, of Colonial Beach was indicted on one charge of distribution of marijuana, and one count to conspire to distribute marijuana.  Sauliner is being held without bond at Northern Neck Regional Jail and will appear in WCJDR court on Jan. 30.

Jessica M. Alley, age 21, of Colonial Beach was indicted on two charges of distribution of a controlled Schedule I or II substance, namely Oxycodone, and two counts to conspire to distribute the same.  Alley is being held without bond at Northern Neck Regional Jail and will appear in WCJDR court on Jan. 30.

Jeremy P. Anderson, age 20, of Colonial Beach, was indicted on two charges of distribution of marijuana, and one count to conspire to distribute marijuana.  Anderson is being held without bond at Northern Neck Regional Jail and will appear in WCJDR court on Jan. 30.

David L Hatton, age 27, of Colonial Beach was indicted on one charge to distribute marijuana, and one count to conspire to distribute marijuana.  Hatton is being held without bond at Northern Neck Regional Jail and will appear in WCJDR court on Jan. 30.

Sedrick L. Smith, age 19, of Colonial Beach was indicted on one charge of distribution of marijuana.  Smith is being held without bond at Northern Neck Regional Jail and will appear in WCJDR court on Jan. 30.

Deandre T. Reed, age 18, of Colonial Beach was indicted on two charges of distribution of marijuana, and one count to conspire to distribute marijuana.  Reed is being held without bond at Northern Neck Regional Jail and will appear in WCJDR court on Jan. 30.

Ernest L. Reed, Jr., age 19, of Colonial Beach was arrested in connection with a search warrant and was charged with distribution of marijuana.  Reed, Jr. was given a $1,500 unsecured bond and will appear in Westmoreland County General District Court on Feb. 5.

Nathan L. Shanklin, age 21, of Colonial Beach was indicted on two charges of distribution of a Schedule I or II substance, namely Oxycodone.  Shanklin was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Feb. 1, in the Westmoreland County Circuit Court.

The Tri-County Taskforce, includes King George County Sheriff’s Office, Caroline County Sheriff’s Office, Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, and NCIS.

The Taskforce was assisted by Colonial Beach Police Department, Virginia ABC, Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department and   Northern Neck Regional Jail.

Westmoreland County Sheriff C.O. Balderson said that the investigation is still ongoing and anticipates more arrests will come out of “Operation Roll Tide”.
