Colonial Beach Elementary School recently received a surprise gift of Baltimore Ravens colored winter caps from the Torrey Smith Foundation.
Torrey Smith, who has roots in the Colonial Beach area, headed to the Super Bowl on Feb 3. As a part of the school’s character awareness and yearlong kindness initiative, these caps are being awarded to the students recognized as being some of the kindest in the school.
Colonial Beach students are learning to “fill each other’s buckets” by performing acts of kindness and “Bucket Fillers” are recognized in various ways throughout the school year.
Homeroom teachers selected the top “Bucket Fillers” in their class for the first semester, were recognized on Tuesday, Jan. 29 with a Torrey Smith cap and an award.
The school continued recognizing additional “Super Bucket Fillers”, who were caught doing the right thing in the days leading up to the Super Bowl.
