Suspect in at least nine break-ins apprehended

Desmond L. Lee

Desmond L. Lee has been charged in connection with several break-ins in the Glebe Harbor/Cabin Point area and Mount Holly. Nine counts of breaking and entering, five charges of grand larceny and one charge of petty larceny have all been filed against him.

Reports of break-ins between June 1 16 came into the Westmoreland Sheriff's Office. After investigations were conducted Sheriff C. O. Balderson said the Sheriff's Office has a suspect (Lee) in custody and he is being held without bond at the Northern Neck Regional Jail.

Lee was arrested on July 31 and will have his first court appearance on Aug. 6 in the Westmoreland General District Court.

Among Lee’s charges for breaking and entering, six are for Glebe Harbor/Cabin Point, two for the 3000 block of Skipjack Road in Kinsale and one for a break-in on the 1500 block of Mount Holly Rd.

Sheriff C. O. Balderson said the investigation continues with other charges pending. Balderson asks that any residents with more information concerning these crimes, or anyone who has been a victim and has not reported it, please call the Detective Jay Michell at (804) 493-8066.
