The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s office has announced that Michael R. Bradshaw Jr. age 22 of Montross has been indicted on four felony charges in connection with the March 7 2013 armed robbery at the Colonial Beach 7-Eleven.
Bradshaw has been charged with; armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a fire arm while committing a felony and wearing a mask in public to conceal identity.
The indictment was issued on Oct. 9 and was served on Bradshaw Oct. 10. Bradshaw has been incarcerated at Northern Neck Regional Jail since March 26 after being charged in connection with several break-ins in Westmoreland County and the Northern Neck. He continues to remain in jail with no bond.
Bradshaw will have his first court appearance for these charges on Oct. 11 in Westmoreland Circuit Court.
On March 7 2013 two suspects wearing masks entered the Colonial Beach 7-Eleven brandishing a firearm and took a cash register containing approximately $85 in currency.
Westmoreland County Sheriff, C. O. Balderson said that the Sheriff's office took over the investigation of the robbery roughly six weeks ago. Senior Detective William Lewko, Detective Donald Jones, Detective Jay Mitchell and First Sergeant of detective Division Vanessa Schoch worked on the case.
Balderson said that the cash register along with physical evidence has been recovered. Balderson could not comment at this time what that physical evidence was.
Balderson said that the investigation is ongoing and the sheriffs office is engaged with a second suspect with charges pending.
