Getting ready for start of school year

 

School open houses for next week

King George schools are readying for the start of the new school year which begins on Tuesday, Sept. 4, the day after Labor Day.

The division is in the midst of a busy nine days of in-service training for teachers and other staff which began this week on Monday, Aug. 20, with two days of orientation devoted to teachers new to the King George division. 

Returning teachers are scheduled to come in this week on Wednesday, Aug. 22 to join up with the new teachers for more in-service training sessions and to ready their classrooms for the start of school. 

Paraprofessionals also join in the preparation activities for educators during three days of in-service training beginning next week on Tuesday, Aug. 28. 

Next week is also when open houses are scheduled for parents and students to meet and greet teachers for the fast-arriving new school year. 

King George schools are listed below with the names of principals and assistant principals, along with dates and times for open houses next week and school start times and dismissal times. 

KING GEORGE HIGH:

Tuesday, Aug. 28:  

9th grade – 5-5:45 p.m.;

1st block beginning at 7:30 a.m.; 

dismissal at the end of the school day is 2:35 p.m. 

KING GEORGE MIDDLE:
