King George drug arrests

On 4-27-2011 the King George County Sheriff’s Office concluded an extensive investigation into a ring of prescription drug distribution brought to light by the death of Taylor Bowie on 06-29-2010.  Ten (10) people have been arrested on a total of fifty two (52) indictments. Pharmaceuticals are the second most abused and illegally distributed drugs in the United States.

The King George Sheriff’s Office and the King George Commonwealth Attorney’s Office committed itself to this strong initiative in order to combat the rising tide of prescription pill distribution, following the death of Ms Bowie.  The three people most closely associated with Ms Bowie’s death have already been arrested and convicted and are serving their sentences.

The investigation was conducted by a Regional Drug Task Force, which includes law enforcement from Westmoreland Sheriff’s Office, Colonial Beach Police Department, Virginia State Police, Naval Criminal Investigative Service and King George Sheriff’s Office.
