King George approves $43,000 for feasibility study for wastewater treatment plant

The King George Board of Supervisors authorized a purchase order in the amount of $43,000 for Draper Aden Associates to provide preliminary engineering services associated with the feasibility of proposals to decommission Oakland Park and Purkins Corner wastewater treatment plants. The idea is to instead convey flows the Hopyard wastewater treatment plant.

KG County proposed tax hikes set for hearings

 The King George County Board of Supervisors will hold public hearings on its proposed $75.2 million 2016-17 budget, as well as on proposed tax increases of 7 cents on real estate taxes and 25 cents more on personal property taxes.

Proposal would bring KG in line with close by systems
The King George County School Board and the county Board of Supervisors are showing what they say is their commitment to  giving school employees raises to make them more competitive with nearby localities, but they are raising taxes to do it.

King George real estate tax to go up maximum of 7 cents

Personal property tax expected to rise as much as 25 cents per $100 valuation
The King George Board of Supervisors will this week get details on a draft 2016-17 budget incorporating a 7-cent hike on real estate taxes and 25-cent increase on personal property taxes.

Brabo recusal, abstention recalls bad blood of altered letter in 2013

King George board OKs resolution for Va. to acquire trail

The King George Supervisors voted unanimously in support of the Dahlgren Heritage Railroad Trail’s acquisition by the state Department of Conservation & Recreation to become part of Caledon State Park, at the request of the Dahlgren Navy base.
