KG Sheriff’s Office seeking suspects in armed robbery

The King George County Sheriff’s Office is seeking two men who robbed The Last Chance Tobacco Store in Dahlgren of several thousand dollars in cash and cigarettes last week.  The suspects fled the scene in a white or silver Chevrolet Spark.

According to a clerk at the store, who asked not to be identified, two males entered the small store at 4863 James

Madison Parkway at 8:45 p.m. on May 7.  One man talked to the female clerk who was on duty acting as if he was 20130515kg3interested in buying cigarettes while the other went around the end of the counter and then brandished a knife.

“The one with the knife held his finger to his lips, told the clerk to be quiet and get on the floor,” said another clerk.  With the clerk out of the way, the pair emptied the cash register and took multiple cartons of cigarettes from the store. Then, they fled east toward the Harry Nice Bridge.

“They displayed a knife and then took a large amount of cigarettes, cash and the keys to the store,” said King George Sheriff Steve Dempsey.  The sheriff’s office is circulating photos of the pair taken by the tobacco store’s in-house cameras.

“They are armed and dangerous,” Dempsey said.  “If anyone has any information about this incident or these suspects, it would be helpful if they would call Detective Drew Massey at 540-775-4188.”  Detective Massey can also be emailed at This email address is being protected from spambots.
