Cedell Brooks, Jr., was transported to Mary Washington Hospital last week on Monday from his home after reportedly suffering from one or more strokes.
“Cedell’s family has requested that their privacy be honored,” Board of Supervisors Chairman Dale Sisson said. “Therefore, any statement or information will need to come from the family.”
Brooks is a fixture in King George and the most senior member of the Board of Supervisors, with nearly 19 years of continuous service on the county’s governing body, first taking office in 1992.
Brooks and his spouse, Carolyn, live with their young daughter in the Shiloh district of King George, which Brooks represents as a member of the board.
