County officials hope their deal with Commercial Metals Company is just the beginning of the expansion of the county-owned industrial park.
On Dec. 2, the King George Board of Supervisors OK’d a $12 million investment by Commercial Metals Company to relocate its manufacturing operations to the county.

County workers to get 2% pay raise

King George County employees will receive 2 percent pay raises effective Jan. 1.
The King George Board of Supervisors agreed to increase the planned raises from 1 percent to 2 percent at its Nov. 18 meeting, with formal approval of a budget amendment expected at its Dec. 2 meeting.

Committee eyes county Internet expansion

King George Director of Economic Development Linwood Thomas has been tasked with coming up with ideas for the use of $42,000 toward some tourism efforts, as well as to consider how future annual amounts of about $79,000 from a county tax could be spent.
