The People’s Community Bank, steeped in the rich history and traditions of the Northern Neck, celebrates its 100th Anniversary Saturday with festivities in Montross where the bank was founded in 1913.
Several hundred friends, customers and well-wishers will join the community bank’s employees in honoring the bank which was established as the Peoples Bank of Montross but today is known as Peoples Community Bank and has five branches.
“In an area so rich in history, Peoples Community Bank is proud of its own history which includes almost 100 years of service to our area. Peoples Community Bank remains a locally owned bank where decisions are made by local people that are familiar with the needs of our community, “ said Peoples Board Chairman George R. Sisson, III.
“We are committed to personal service, where you talk to a person and not a machine. We have an outstanding group of employees working hard to make Peoples Community Bank a better bank. As members of your communities they understand the customers and their banking requirements,” Sisson said.
Peoples Bank is using its 100th Anniversary to acknowledge their friends and customers for their loyalty and patronage. Thanks to the support of the Northern Neck community, during the past 10 decades the bank has grown from a single office in Montross to branches in Warsaw, Dahlgren, King George and Fredericksburg.
The community bank prides itself in its commitment to customers, shareholders and the community. The bank features extended lobby and drive-thru hours at all branches, free on-line banking with bill-pay, giving customers secure access to their accounts 24/7, 365 days a year.
