Early morning operation began at 4 a.m. on Thursday, May 15. Indictments were obtained as the result of an undercover narcotics investigation.
The following individuals were arrested without incident:
Corey J. Barker, 21 years old, Town of Colonial Beach, one count of distribution of more than ½ ounce of marijuana, released on $2,500 unsecured bond
Mark A. Carey, 49 years old, Hague, one count of distribution schedule 1 or 2 namely crack cocaine, released on $5,000 unsecured bond
Johnny L. Smith, 32 years old, Hague, two counts of distribution schedule 1 or 2 namely crack cocaine. Also charged subsequent to arrest for possession of marijuana, released on $5,000 secured bond
Michael Morgenweck, 35 years old, Town of Colonial Beach, two counts of distribution schedule 1 or 2 namely heroin, no bond
Juvenile, served petition for distribution of more than ½ ounce of marijuana
Shedrick B. Covert, 23 years old, second suspect in the armed robbery at the Colonial Beach 7-11 occurring on March 07, 2013, no bond
one count of armed robbery
one count of conspiracy to commit robbery
one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
one count of wearing a mask in public to conceal identity
The first appearance for the adult arrests is scheduled for Friday, May 16 in Westmoreland County Circuit Court.
The Tri-County Narcotics Task Force is comprised of Caroline, King George and Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Offices, Virginia State Police and the Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS). Richmond County Sheriff’s Office assisted the morning of the operation.
