Patricia Wooding Estes

Patricia Wooding Estes, 91, of King George County, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013.

She was born in Fredericksburg to Aubin and Emma Wooding on December 22, 1921. During the mid-1940’s, she moved to King George County, where her husband, Walter Estes, a Virginia State Trooper,

was transferred.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

During her sixty plus years in King George, she belonged to St. John’s Episcopal Church, and will be greatly missed by the many friendships she developed over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Walter Allen Estes. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia C. Lubno, (Edward) of Richmond; two sons, Allen A. Estes, (Linda), of King George; and John A. Estes, (Patricia), of Fredericksburg. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Edward, Lisa, Elizabeth and Catherine; and five great-grandchildren Alexander, Allison, Andrew, Nathalie and Beck.
She also leaves behind loving, devoted caretakers and friends of the past four years, Lucy Peyton, of Oak Grove and her neighbor Shirley Shaw, of King George.

Interment of ashes will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Diane Carroll officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Box 134, King George, VA, 22485; or to the King George Fire & Rescue, 8122 Kings Highway, King George, VA  22485.
