James L. DeShazo

James L. DeShazo Sr., 79, of Stafford County passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at his residence surrounded by family.

Mr. DeShazo was a U.S. Army veteran and attended Hollywood Church of the Brethren. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his sons, Bruce N. DeShazo (Joan), of Stafford, James L. DeShazo Jr. (Denise), of Stafford and Kenneth R. DeShazo (Karen), of Spotsylvania County; daughters Cathy S. Herndon (Craig), of Stafford and Lisa A. Gallaway of Spotsylvania; brothers Thomas DeShazo of Stafford, Ronald DeShazo of King George, Wayne DeShazo of Spotsylvania and Donald DeShazo of King George; sister Mary Spillman of King George; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise DeShazo; a son, Dennis W. DeShazo; and a brother, Robert DeShazo.

A service was held Sunday, June 16, at Hollywood Church of the Brethren. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Hollywood Church of the Brethren, Building Fund, 225 Ferry Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
