George Ray Chappell

George Ray Chappell, 57, of King George County died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Chappell was an Air Force veteran and had worked at Wilson Bros. Inc. He was proud of his Native American heritage and loved to read.
Survivors include his sons, Jeremy Chappell (Danielle), and Joshua Chappell (Sarah), all of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his grandsons, Grayson and Josh; his granddaughters, Caydence, Teresa and Evelynn; his sisters, Linda Sullivan and Nancy Madison of Fredericksburg, Carolyn Lumpkin of King George, Diana McQueen of Port Royal and Donna Chappell of Harrisonburg; and brothers John R. Chappell of Spotsylvania County, David E. Chappell of AL and Kenneth D. Chappell, Joseph A. Chappell, Stephen W. Chappell and Frank S. Chappell, all of Spotsylvania. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Nancy Chappell Knable; his former wife, Teresa Chappell Hafner; and brother James “Butch” Chappell.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, MD, 20910; or Hospice of Virginia, 50 N. Laura St., Suite 1800, Jacksonville, FL, 32202.
