Undine B. McElroy
Undine B. McElroy, 84, of Potomac Shores, VA, passed away at 1 p.m. Sunday March 4, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Undine was the loving wife of Stuart H. McElroy for 66 years. She was always herself, a gem of a person who never did an unkind thing to anyone or said an unkind word about anyone. She loved people and would talk to anyone around her. That’s what made her Undine. She is surely one of God’s newest angels.
She and Stuart spent most of their marriage enjoying boating. Through the years, they owned both sail boats and power boats and spent the summers cruising the Chesapeake Bay region.
In later years, when they gave up being boat owners, they became interested in dancing and traveled the country participating in National Conventions.
She is survived by her husband, Stuart H. McElroy; a daughter, Undine Sandra Hoyer and her husband, Robert Michael Hoyer of King George; and a grandson, Stuart C. Hoyer and his wife, Lindy T. Hoyer of Norfolk.
Undine was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Sallie Brown of Dahlgren and a brother, Vernon Brown.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9 at Dahlgren United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Oakland Baptist Cemetery, Owens.
Following the services, a reception will be held at the home of Bob and Sandy Hoyer.
