Bobby W. Thacker
Bobby W. Thacker, 74, of King George County passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Thacker was a U.S. Army veteran. He later started his family business, Professional Building Maintenance. He was a member of Elks Lodge 875 and Eagles Lodge 4123. Mr. Thacker had a deep love for his family and pets. He also enjoyed eating crabs at Captain Billy’s in Popes Creek, MD.
Survivors include his companion, Hale Pecor of Stafford County; three sons, Alexander Raymond Thacker (Ashley), of King George, Justin Lindsey Thacker and his girlfriend, Chassidy Camper, of Stafford, and Sean Stacey Thacker (Cheryl), of Stafford; a daughter, Kimberly Anne Stricklin of Stafford; two brothers, Lester Thacker of Minnesota and Clarence Thacker of Stafford; five grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Alexis, Campbell and William Thacker; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifton, Ernest, Alton and John; and three sisters, Elsie Whidden, Florence Morris and Bessie Clark.
The family received friends Friday, Nov. 4, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. A funeral was held Saturday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home chapel. Interment was in Mount Comfort Cemetery.

John William Robinson
John William Robinson, 68, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of King George County, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at a Florida hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Laverne Robinson, three daughters and one son, all of Florida; his mother, Margaret Holmes Robinson, of Clinton, MD; three sisters, Betty Ward, Alberta Robinson and Edna Robinson; and three brothers, Jackie Robinson, Frank Robinson and Peyton Robinson.
Services were held Oct. 29, 2011, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Gotha, FL, followed by cremation.
Clarence Bowman, Sr.
Clarence Bowman Sr. of Colonial Beach passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Junkins; a son, Clarence Bowman Jr.; seven grandchildren, Teresa Craig, Trace Marshall, Paul Crist Jr., Crystel Crist, Leroy Crist and Chelsea Junkins; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family received friends Thursday, Nov. 3, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, in Fredericksburg.
Services were private.
Warner Buren Pitts
Warner Buren Pitts, 89, of Montross went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011.
He was a charter and lifetime member of the Westmoreland Fire Dept., a World War II Army veteran and a retired electronics technician for the Naval Surface Warfare Center.
He was the widower of Mildred Henderson Pitts.
He is survived by two sons, William Murry Pitts (Meredith Ann) of Rockville, MD, and Stephen Buren Pitts (Deborah) of Montpelier; and two brothers, Mahlon E. Pitts of Mount Holly and Vaden Stein Pitts of Florida.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Stephen Corey Pitts and Kelly Marie Pitts; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Madison Pitts and William McCormally.
The family received friends at the Montross Chapel of Welch Funeral Home, where a funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 6.

Robert Lynn Delano
Robert Lynn “Bobby” Delano, 61, of Loretto died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at his residence.
Born June 7, 1950, to the late Calvert Hugh and Pollyanna Boughan Delano, Bobby grew up in Howertons, attended Center Cross Elementary School and graduated from Tappahannock High School in 1969. He was a lifelong member of Howertons Baptist Church.
Bobby joined the U.S. Air Force in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1971. He was an insurance agent for Southland Life and Life of Georgia for many years and most recently worked for Monumental Life Insurance in Richmond.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Ellen Wolfe Delano; his daughter, Casey Delano Thrift (Bryan), two grandsons, Davis and Braden, and baby Thrift due in February, all of Smithfield; his four sisters and their husbands, Carol Ann Neist (Terry) , Betty Page Weiss (Jackie), Sandra Ball (Corey), all of Howertons, and Faye King (Wayne), of Warsaw. He is also survived by his brother, Kenny Delano (Patricia), of Desha; his youngest brother and best friend, Rodney of Howertons; his aunt, Betty Delano of Warsaw; his uncle and aunt, Joseph and Angie Boughan of Newport News; and a number of nieces, nephews and their families.
A service was held Friday, Nov. 4, at Howertons Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the donor’s choice.
Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock handled the arrangements.
Deanna Lee Rose
Deanna Lee Rose, 34, of King George County died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011.
Survivors include her children, Ashlyn, Megan and Kelsey.

Walter G. Pierce
Walter G. “Watermelon” Pierce, 49, of Colonial Beach passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at VCU Medical Center, Richmond.
He was a former truck driver for Darl Concrete.
Survivors include his wife, Renita; his mother, Rose Jeannette Pierce; three sons, James Johnson, Alonzo Smith and Walter Johnson; two daughters, Latoya King and Mataya Johnson; five brothers, Otis Johnson, retired Sgt. 1st Class Rydell Pierce, Lewis Johnson, William Pierce and Randolph Brown; seven sisters, Selinda Owens, Evelyn McDowney, Laura Quarterman, Ross Ann Bumbrey, Stella Campbell, Angela Newman and Staff Sgt. Lecola Pierce.
Viewing will start at noon Thursday, Nov. 10, at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
The service will be at noon Friday, Nov. 11, at First Baptist Church, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. David Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Historyland Memorial Park, King George.
