Charles Andrew Clatterbuck

Charles Andrew Clatterbuck, 71, of Montross went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011.
He was a retired auto body mechanic manager.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Elliott Clatterbuck; and one sister, Lucy Hall (Steve), of Chantilly. He was preceded in death by sister Betty Ann Holmes.
A funeral was held Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Montross Chapel of Welch Funeral Home. Burial was private.

Terry Lee Roberts

Terry Lee Roberts, 65, of Stafford County passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Roberts had retired from NSWC Dahlgren, and worked part time at a VA ABC store. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a life member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Ruby Roberts; his daughter, Katherine Roberts Feltner (Randy); his brother, Edward Thomas Roberts III; his sister, Beverly Roberts Payne; a very special niece, Rhonda Snellings; and other nieces and nephews Stacy Barlow, Daren Payne, Matthew Payne and Kristin Roberts.
A service was held Saturday, Oct. 22, at Covenant Funeral Service chapel, Fredericksburg. Interment will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Trudy Clifton, 113 Tallpines Drive, Locust Grove, VA, 22508; or to the SPCA, 10819 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA, 22408.

William Alfred Richardson

William Alfred “Snip” Richardson, 84, of Tappahannock departed this life Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at his residence.
He is survived by 10 nieces; seven great-nieces; one nephew; six great-nephews; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 21, at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd. A funeral was held Saturday, Oct. 22, at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, Caret. The Rev. Lester Harvey, pastor, did officiate. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Leroy Spencer Pollard

Leroy Spencer Pollard, 39, of Tappahannock departed this life Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, in Essex County.
Leroy was employed as a service manager with Ryder Truck Co.
He is survived by his daughter, Faith Desiree Pollard; his best friend, Marisa Fortune; his parents, Roy and Verna “Judy” Pollard; one sister, Christy Pollard Johnson; his grandmother Bernice Hence; great-grandmother Marion Pitts; and grandfather Henry Mathew Pollard.
A visitation was held at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock. The funeral was held Friday, Oct. 21, at Beulah Baptist Church, Minor, with the Rev. Floyd Johnson officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Daniel Matthew DeVault

Daniel Matthew DeVault, 35, of King George County, beloved husband and father, passed away at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 10, 1976, in Great Falls, MT, to Harry and Sandy DeVault. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor’s degree in wildlife fisheries. He was united in marriage to Ana Lilia-Ruiz on May 2, 2010.
Dan is survived by his wife, Ana; daughter Sierra; his parents; siblings Lisa Hockaday and James DeVault; and brother-in-law Bobby Hockaday. He is also survived by niece Jordan DeVault; and nephews Justin and Alec James Hockaday.
The family received friends  Saturday, Oct. 22, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, and held the service there.

Adele Bruce Kline

Adele Bruce Kline, 90, of Lynchburg died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011. She was the wife of the late Edward Snyder Kline for 38 years.
Born Tuesday, July 26, 1921, in the Philippines, Adele was daughter of the late Thomas Bruce and Adeline Ciccione Bruce.
Adele is survived by two daughters, Mary Hill (Roland), of Lynchburg and Nancy Kline (Scott Avera), of Palm Springs, CA, son Edward Kline (Karen), of Albuquerque, NM; son in-law Guillermo Oliver of Yauco, Puerto Rico; and five grandchildren, Weston Hill, of Raleigh, NC, Steele Hill of Lynchburg, Maria Adella Oliver of Yauco, and Kelley Kline and Kendall Kline, both of Albuquerque.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Adele was preceded in death by a daughter Bonnie Kline Oliver.
Adele was a graduate of the U.VA.School of Nursing, and proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Although she had lived in Lynchburg for the past 12 years with her family and a beloved menagerie of animals, she considered her home to be Sunnyfields Farm in King George County. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, King George. She always lived her life true to what she believed through civic duty, community service and family leadership. Her life was an inspiration of strength to all who knew her.
Family and friends celebrated her life at her Lynchburg home, on Sunday, Oct. 23.

Sylvester Beverly

Sylvester Beverly, 69, of Montross passed away Oct. 23, 2011, at his residence.
Survivors include three daughters, Sylvia Smith of Fredericksburg and Lisa McDowney and Judy Smith, both of Colonial Beach; three sons, John Wright of Bowie, MD, Eric Wright of Washington, DC , and Gabert Smith of Colonial Beach; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lewis Johnson of Washington, DC.
A funeral will be held at noon, Friday, Oct. 28, at New Monrovia Baptist Church, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. Welford McDowney officiating.
Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

James Bartley Ramsey

James Bartley “Bart” Ramsey, 43, of Colonial Beach passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at his residence.
Bart loved all types of music. His hobby was arts and crafts.
He is survived by his mother, Lorna J. Ramsey of the home; father Ronald W. Cooper; sister Jamie E. Garcia; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Thomas L. Ramsey.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. Willard Bowen officiating. Burial was private.

Thelma E. Allen

Thelma E. Allen, 99, of King George County passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at her residence.
Thelma had retired from the Navy Department as a secretary in 1975. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in King George.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Oakland Baptist Church cemetery, King George, with the Rev. Guy Mattox Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 5520 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA, 22485.
