James Powell Jorgenson
James Powell Jorgenson, 57, died peacefully, Friday, May 20, 2011, at his home in Roanoke, VA.
Born December 19, 1953 in California, James was the son of the late John H. and Grace P. Jorgenson.
Jim is survived by his brothers, J. Harry Jorgenson (Patty), of Washington, DC and Lewis V. Jorgenson of Roanoke. Lewis was James’ caregiver for the last 15 plus years.
James is also survived by his sister Grace L. (Lori) Jorgenson Deem (Jack); nephew, Jack W. Deem, III and niece, Mayjean L. Deem, all of King George, VA.
Also missing Jim is his faithful dog, Homer.
Oakey’s Funeral Service & Crematory/East Chapel in Roanoke is handling the funeral arrangements.
A memorial service will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, where his remains will be laid to rest along side his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Mitchell R. Embrey
Mitchell R. Embrey, 63, of Colonial Beach died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Embrey was a retired U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He was also retired from the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Linda Embrey; a daughter, Melina Embrey; a son, Christopher Embrey; a sister, Mildred Embrey Brassart; three grandchildren, Shawn, Jesse and Aaron Stanley; and a nephew, Travis W. Brassart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jasper Embrey; and his brother, Herby Embrey.
Services will be private.

William “Billy” Crawford, 67, of Colonial Beach entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 16, 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 30, at Colonial Beach Baptist Church. Burial will be private.

Beulah Frances Cornette
Beulah Frances Wentz Cornette, 96, of King George County died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Westmoreland Health Care in Colonial Beach.
A longtime resident of Chesapeake, she had resided in King George for the past 24 years.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, its Women’s Missionary Union and AARP.
She was born July 3, 1914, in Portlock, Norfolk County. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Annie Sawyer Wentz, and the widow of Joseph T. Cornette Sr.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph Thomas Cornette Jr. (Gloria), of Winnetka, CA, and John Steven Cornette (Vera) of King George; three grandchildren, Thomas Jeffrey Cornette of Camarillo, CA, Rodney Scott Cornette of West Hills, CA, and Stephanie Cornette of King George; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Ballance of Coinjock, NC; and a brother, Benjamin Franklin Wentz of Suffolk.
A graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach at a later date.

Lucille Dodson Breeden
Lucille Dodson Breeden, 86, of Fredericksburg passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was a member of Spotswood Baptist Church in Spotsylvania County and the Spotswood Primetimers.
Lucille is survived by a son, Ronnie Bell of Spotsylvania; two daughters, Judy Boyle of King George County and Barbara Palmer of Chesterfield; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Audrey Seay of Orange County and Katherine Rider, formerly of Fredericksburg.
A visitation was held Tuesday, May 24, in Sunset Memorial Park, Fredericksburg, followed by a graveside service. The Rev. Jim Stone did officiate.

Courtney Jordan, 83, of Fairview Beach departed this life Saturday, April 9, 2011.
Corky was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Stephens Jordan. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Trigger; granddaughter Leslee Tingle (Bruce); nephew Tim Ruppalt (Karen); and several nieces.
Courtney served during World War II in the Merchant Marine sailing on the renowned Liberty Ships. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was retired from the Baltimore City Fire Department and later again retired from Mary Washington College’s physical plant.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Potomac Baptist Church, 8103 Comorn Road, King George.

Neva Blanche Muse
Neva Blanche Wright Muse, 88, of Colonial Beach went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 21, 2011.
Mrs. Muse was the widow of Leonard Anadale Muse.
She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Oak Grove, and was a retired school teacher for the Westmoreland County school system.
She is survived by one son, Larry A. Muse (Ruth Ann), of Colonial Beach; one daughter, Janice M. Frye (Joseph), of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren, Daniel J. Frye (Darragh), of Richmond, John L. Frye of Colorado Springs, CO, and Meredyth L. Frye of Fredericksburg and Statesboro, GA.
The family received friends Tuesday, May 24, at the Montross Chapel of Welch Funeral Home, Montross.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
