Geneva Peyton, 75, of Colonial Beach died peacefully Monday, Dec. 6, 2010.
She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Lillie Mae Tate of Colonial Beach; her sister, Edith M. Holland of Norfolk; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 11, at First Baptist Church, Colonial Beach, with Dr. David Cunningham officiating. Interment was in Historyland Memorial Park, King George County.
Arrangements were handled by Lee Funeral Home, King George.
Norma Wester Rose
Norma Wester Rose, 85, of Lake Charles died Saturday, December 04, 2010 in the comfort of her daughter’s home.
Mrs. Rose was born and lived most of her life in Baton Rouge, LA. She and her husband returned to his childhood home town, Watson, LA, where they lived their retirement years. She worked as a Key Punch Operator for Ethyl Corp during her younger years and worked many years as a Secretary for the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court Mortgage Office, from which she retired.
Mrs. Rose was an admirable woman of her generation, a Christian woman of faith, with an overwhelming love for her family and a devotion to serving the Lord. She was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church where she was a member of both church choirs.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Catherine R. Comish (Charles Ray), of Lake Charles and Elizabeth R. Doran (Thomas E.), of King George, VA; one son, Retired Air Force Major, Stephen James Rose (Sondra) of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren, Jessica Doran Taft(Joshua), Samuel Patrick Doran (Rebekah Jean), and William Stuart Doran, all of VA and Christopher Michael Rose and Kimberly Anne Rose, both of OK; two great- grandchildren, Zachary Thomas Taft and John Patrick Taft and one sister, Rosalie Grado and husband Salvador of Groves, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Preston Rose and one brother, Sidney Marion Peterson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Roger Templeton and Peggy Foreman officiated. Graveside services were held Wednesday, December 12 in the Live Oak United Methodist Church Cemetery in Watson, LA., with the Reverend Tom Bergeron officiating.

Frances A. Berry
Frances A. Berry, 90, of King George County passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010.
Frances was born in Baltimore, MD. She was a homemaker, former member of Hanover Baptist Church in King George, and a current member of Round Hill Baptist Church in King George.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas W. Berry Jr. (Sandy O.), and Ralph J. Berry, all of King George; four sisters, Elizabeth Dunn and Betty Rice, both of Maryland, and Margaret Armstrong and Joan Ness, both of Florida; four grandchildren, Donna Barnum, Kevin Berry, April Berry and Abby Moore; and seven great-grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Berry Sr.
A funeral was held Friday, Dec. 10, at Round Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ted James officiating. Interment followed in Corrottoman Baptist Cemetery, Ottoman.

Roland Franklin Baker
Roland Franklin Baker, 83, of Fredericksburg passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Hughes Home.
Born May 12, 1927, to Robert F. and Pearl N. Baker, he was a lifelong resident of the Fredericksburg area. A Navy veteran of World War II, Roland served in the Pacific Theater. For 50 years he worked as a well-known shoe repairman and owner of Baker’s Shoe Repair in Fredericksburg.
Roland was a member of Kings Highway Baptist Church. He was a self-taught, natural musician, who played fiddle and guitar, sang tenor in church choirs, led congregational singing and sang in male quartets including the Gospelight Quartet. Later in life, Roland was an ordained minister at Montague Baptist Church in King George.
Survivors include his wife, Helen H. Baker; three sons, Ronald E. Baker of Fredericksburg, David R. Baker of Fredericksburg and Russell F. Baker of Spotsylvania County; two daughters, Bonnie P. Baker-Day of Reidsville, N.C., and Robyn B. Pates of Falmouth; six grandchildren, Ryan, Rendall, Jacob and Garrett Baker, John W. Pates III and Katelyn Pates; and one great-grandson, Riley Baker.
A funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 11, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with the Rev. Carlin Dempsey officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Andrew E. Rock
Andrew E. Rock, 56, of Washington, D.C., died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Henrico Doctors Hospital.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Gail Smith of Alexandria; two sons, Ethan Rock and Daniel Rock of the island of Dominica; two grandchildren; two brothers, John Rock of Colonial Beach and Richard Rock of Silver City, N.C.; and two sisters-in-law, Shermel Rock and Sharon Rock.
A funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 11, at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal.

Tammy Lynn Murray
Tammy Lynn Murray, 41, of Woodbridge died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was a registered nurse for Quest Diagnostics and an active volunteer for the Society of St. Vincent De Paul at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Woodbridge.
Tammy is survived by her daughter, Suzanna Murray of Woodbridge; stepsons Troy and Kevin Schenemann of Maryand; brothers Christopher and Daniel Murray of Alexandria; sister Sarah Murray of Woodbridge; father Dan Murray of Alexandria; fiance John Laine of Spotsylvania County; step-mother, Drue Murray of Colonial Beach and many loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Pamela Murray.
A viewing was held Sunday, Dec. 12, at Miller Funeral Home, Woodbridge. The funeral was held on Monday, Dec. 13, at Our Lady of Angels Church. Interment followed in Woodbine Cemetery, Manassas.
Barbara Jean Dickinson
Barbara Jean Dickinson, 65, of Colonial Beach passed away Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. King Jr. of Colonial Beach; a daughter, Sheila J. Jenkins of Arlington; and a son, Stuart Shannon II of Colonial Beach.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mary Maureen Young
Mary Maureen Young, 84, of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Woodmont Center. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by four sons, Raymond Young of Lehigh Acres, FL., David Young Sr. of Fredericksburg, Melvin Young of King George County and Patrick Young of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, David Young Jr. and Olivia Young; one niece; and numerous nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home, with burial to follow in National Memorial Park.

Gordon P. Rose
Gordon P. Rose, 76, of King George County passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.
He was a retired service station attendant. He attended Oakland Baptist Church in King George.
Gordon is survived by two sisters, Azele Synan of Stafford County and Peggy Briggs of King George; a brother, Preston L. Rose of Great Mills, MD.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Rose.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Raymond Lee Cropper
Raymond Lee Cropper Sr., 42, of Fredericksburg died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010.
Mr. Cropper was a loving husband, father and son.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly C. Cropper; son Raymond Lee Cropper Jr. of Fredericksburg; daughters Whitney Anne Cropper and Britney Anne Cropper, both of Fredericksburg; parents Leslie Jackson Cropper Sr. and Peggy Ann Cropper of Triangle; brothers Leslie Cropper Jr. and Jerry Cropper Sr., both of King George, and Terry Cropper Sr. of Triangle; and sisters Carolyn Coulter of Fredericksburg, Hilda Fulkerson of Stafford County and Susan Barber of Triangle.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Keith Loesch officiating. Burial will follow in Stafford Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the funeral home.
