Robert S. "Bob" Halien, Sr.
Robert S. "Bob" Halien Sr., 88, of King George County, formerly of New Jersey, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at the home of his daughter in King George.
Mr. Halien had retired as a credit manager from Diamond Shamrock Chemical Co. He was the widower of Mary E. Halien for 23 years.
Survivors include his son, Robert S. Halien Jr. of Bristol, N.H.; his daughter, Ellen Herdemian of King George; his son, William Brad Halien of Hackettstown, N.J.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral and burial will be held in Flemington, N.J.
Beatrice Viola Lincoln
Beatrice Viola Lincoln, 66 of Colonial Beach, VA, died Thursday, Nov.20th at her residence.
Predeceased by her parents Sterling and Viola Evans, stepson Steven Lowrey, brothers Sterling A., Harry A., and Asa R. Evans, she is survived by husband Frank E. Lincoln, Jr. a son William Johnson, Jr., a daughter Betty Irene Mae Yake, step children Linda Leapley, Frank Lincoln, III., Darleene Morris, David James McBroom, Deanna Lee; her sisters Ruby McNeel and Sylvia A. Crouse; 8 grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
The family received friends on Monday Nov. 24, 2008 and a funeral service was held Tuesday at the funeral home with internment at the Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD. AREHART-ECHOLS FUNERAL HOME,P.A., 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD handled all the arrangements.

Shirley Apperson Kane
Shirley Apperson Kane, 58, of King George County died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at her home.
She had retired as an employee of the city of Fredericksburg, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard "Bud" Kane; two daughters, Bonnie Coates and her husband, DeWayne, of Westmoreland County and Beverly Bennett of King George; seven siblings, Dwight Apperson, John Apperson, James Apperson, Edward Apperson, Edna Barber, Robert Apperson and Dorthy Canterbury; and five grandchildren, Brandon, Caitlin, David, Lauren and Kayla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Dorthy Apperson; and her brother, David Apperson.
A funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with the Rev. Ted James officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Baptist Church cemetery, King George.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the funeral home.
