CBVFD-LA Fried Fish Dinner. 5-7 p.m. Menu: fish, frenchfries, slaw, corn bread, tea and dessert. $10 pp.
Colonial Beach Historical Society to host a Golf Tournament. Cameron Hills Golf Links, KG. Cost $75pp, $50 high school students. Includes breakfast & lunch.

4th Annual “Living in the Garden Symposium” will be held at U. of Mary Washington, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Guest speaker, TV personality Bryce Lane. Anita Tuttle will also speak. Guy Mussey of Stafford VA Ext. Office will lead a tree walk on the UMW campus. Budding poets spend afternoon Liberal Arts time being creative

First Grade students, along with their teachers and reading specialist, shared a one hour special program to celebrate poetry on the day before Spring Break. The Poetry Café featured an opportunity for parents and community members to join the students in writing poetry, while enjoying refreshments. As special guests and parents circulated, students read the poems they were creating and invited their guests to also create their own poetry.

Montross Middle School Students Ride in Style

Montross Middle School students Hunter Angerer,  Celene King, Michael Perrigan, Selena Branson, Angela Clayton, Kelsey Henry, Lilly Daugherty, Jody Dean, Dillon Miner, and Terrell Brooks were treated to a Limo Lunch at Anna’s Pizza.

KGP&R needs help “naming” new creature in front of their building

This critter recently was found on the grassy area in front of the KGP&R offices. Another of one of a kind seasonal decorations, this particular critter has no name.

Arrival of ospreys signals arrival of spring

The thousands of ospreys that flew into the Northern Neck and the Chesapeake Bay last week were perhaps less than thrilled by the cold, wet weather that marked the March 20 arrival of spring.
After all, the mighty raptors were migrating north for the spring and summer following a winter sojourn as far away as Brazil.
