Colonial Beach kids are physically fit!

People all over the state of Virginia are puzzled as to why the Colonial Beach School system has produced so many championships over a short period of time in every sport within its program.
The answer to this mystifying question is rooted deep within the fabric of its elementary school physical fitness process. Coach Steve Swope, an educator for 30 years has seen the formula for success start from the elementary school to the high school. His secret is amplified in one simple mantra. “We grow our own here at Beach.”

Swope, along with the faculty of Colonial Beach Elementary School, would like to congratulate the following students in grades 4-7 for passing all four state physical fitness tests in the spring of 2009. These students have received better than satisfactory test results on pull-ups, curl-ups, V-sit and reach, and the one mile run in respective grades and age groups.
