4th Annual Visualize & Rize Celebrity Golf Tournament

On Friday, the 4th annual Visualize & Rize Celebrity Golf Tournament brought 220 golfers to Cameron Hills Golf Course to compete and raise scholarship funds for Fredericksburg area high school students who aspire to go to college.

Notable names present at the tournament included: the first American ever to win an Olympic medal in tae kwon do (24th Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea); Oakland Raiders Usama Young; Chicago Bears’ Matt Slauson, Nate Collins, Roberto Garza; retired NFL players Fred McAfee, Dion Fox and Mike Nelms.

Winners ranged from the categories of team to longest drive. Competitors also included a number of local businessmen and coaches from the Fredericksburg area.

Most recently, the foundation raised scholarship money for Chicago students through a fashion show benefit that highlighted the Chicago Bear wives. “We are taking the next step into helping as many people as we can,” Visualize & Rize founder Jermon Bushrod said. “The golf tournament and the youth football camp are just a few things we have continued, but we’re always trying to find ways to get the community involved, and have a good time.”

Recently, the foundation established a Visualize & Rize Superbowl Experience, which will raise funds for aspiring college students in need.

The silent auction consisted of the following autographed items: Andrew Luck, autographed Indianapolis Colts jersey; Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears jersey; Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49’ers jersey and football; Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens jersey; Jimmy Graham, New Orleans Saints jersey; Alshon Jeffrey, Chicago Bears jersey; Brandon Marshall, Chicago Bears jersey; Matt Forte, Chicago Bears jersey; Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints jersey; Eli Manning, New York Giants jersey; Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints jersey; Jared Allen, Chicago Bears jersey; four Nationals baseball tickets; Flying Squirrels baseball fan package.

Golf sponsors included: Radley Chevrolet and Cadillac, Mercedes Benz Sprinter of Fredericksburg, Homewood Suites, Marshall Henslee, Dr. Richard Cottrell, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Croton Watches, Finks Jewelers, Nicholls Auction, Hooters, Outback Steakhouse, Birchwood Power Partners, Panera Bread, MVP Awards, Splitsville, Bravo, Protec, JF Fick, Meadows Farms Golf Course, Community Bank of the Chesapeake, NSWC Credit Union, Ameriprise, BB&T, Eye King, Aquahydrate, EAS, Bay Disposal, Childress Agency, Sheetz, JAG Mobile Solutions, Subway, and numerous hole sponsors.

Happy with the tournament’s continued community participation, Cameron Hills Golf Course general manager Jason Hill said, “For four years, we’ve been happy to partner with the Bushrod family, and to help raise money for much needed educational scholarships.”

Since the day he set foot on the lush green tundra of a professional football field, Jermon Bushrod, and the Bushrod family have been adamant about helping their beloved community of King George.  The foundation is a reflection of Bushrod’s character and vision for society. “You should see yourself succeeding in different things,” Bushrod said. “It should apply to all areas of life; whether it’s football, school, family, and your relationship with the lord.”
