KGHS Foxes varsity girls’ soccer game results

After dismantling Louisa 6-0 in a scrimmage earlier in the season, the Foxes have experienced an offensive surge that has resulted in three victories without a defeat. The following Foxes game information is results from the regular season:
On April 1, King George paid a special “April Fool’s Day” visit to Spotsylvania. After the Foxes gave up two early goals on free kicks to Knights player Lauren Luttell, to tie game at 2-2, they quickly made halftime adjustments. In the second half, the Foxes solved the Knights’ defensive setup to win 7-3.

“Great teamwork and possession in the second half, along with a standout performance from the KG defense and GK Kayla Childers led to an inspiring win,” Fox girls’ varsity head coach Dustin Pifer said.

Fox stats: Heather Hanks, two goals, one assist; Jessa Turner, one goal, one assist; Gabi Caron, one goal, one assist; Carley Armentrout, one goal; Lindsey Armentrout, one goal
Caeli Cusworth, one goal; Shannon McLaughlin, one assist.


KG vs. Caroline
On March 29, the Foxes hosted Caroline at Hunter Field, aka “The Pitt.” The Foxes offense feasted on the Cavaliers with a 13-0 shut out.

Fox stats: Jessa Turner, three goals; Meghin Martin, three goals; Gabi Caron, three goals; Caeli Cusworth, two goals, two assists; Shannon McLaughlin, two goals; Lindsey Armentrout, two assists; Carley Armentrout, two assists; Heather Hanks, one assist;

KG vs. Washington & Lee
On March 15, during the first regular season game of the season, the Foxes blanked their Washington & Lee Eagles cross-town rivals 8-0.

Fox stats: Jessa Turner, three goals, one assist; Meghin Martin, two goals; Caeli Cusworth, one goal, three assists; Carley Armentrout, one goal; Heather Hanks, one goal.

The Foxes will host Northern Neck District rival Northumberland on Wednesday, April 6, and on Friday, April 8, they will travel to the unfriendly confines of Eastern View. Results of the home game featuring Culpeper were not available due to press deadlines. All games will start at 7 p.m.
