Dez’John Park closed out the game for the Drifters, giving up three runs, on one walk, and two hits.

The Drifters exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning. With two runners on base, and no outs, Graves drove a RBI scoring double into left field to give the Drifters a 2-0 lead. Moments later, with one out, Josh Thomas ripped a single between the Panthers short-stop and second base to score Graves for their third run. Run scoring hits by Sidney Horton (2 RBIs) , and Smith (2) completed the scoring.

While the Drifters defense continued to shut out the Panthers, their offense was hotter than ever. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Smith extended the Drifters lead (8-0) as he led off the inning with a walk-off homerun. Smith later plated the Drifters final run with a RBI single that scored Devin Davis.

The Drifters now head into spring break undefeated at 6-0. They will play Springboro High School (Ohio) on Wednesday, April 4, and Paideia School (Atlanta, GA) on Thursday, April 5. Both games will be played at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL.

The Drifter coaching staff would like to thank all the players, coaches, parents, and fan volunteers that helped deliver mulch on Saturday, March 31.

In addition, coach Swope would like to extend his thanks to all Drifter baseball, and softball programs for their help performing all the duties during the Little League Clinic on Saturday, March 31.
