The Foxes are back in championship form. On Friday, the Foxes swim teams celebrated their home opener with a triad victory over the Culpeper Blue Devils and the Spotsylvania Knights. Leann Miller punctuated the victory with two wins that included two state qualifying times in the girls 200-meter IM (2:37.24) and the girls 100-meter butterfly (1:11.29).
In a demonstration of dominance, the Foxes swept all 22 events with first place finishes, which also included double individual victories by Christiana Bentz, Alexandra Bentz, McKenzie Olup and Tyler Grigg.
The defending Battlefield District champions may arguably have the best formula for success in the area with two seasonal summer swim teams, the Eels and Sharks, and the year-round travel team, the Potomac Raiders.
The perpetuation of a swimming dynasty is a direct result of the three swim teams forming a perfect storm. Another trademark of the Foxes swim program is the commitment of the coaches and parents who have devoted their evenings to help build the best swim program in the area.
On Friday, the Foxes will travel to Chancellor for their first dual meet of the season. The meet begins at 7 p.m.
