After defeating James Monroe (0-8) 14-0 on Friday, thanks to a perfect game thrown by Lex Estes, the Foxes varsity baseball team (4-2, 4-5) has turned their season around. The Fox junior varsity baseball machine continues to roll along in its 4-1 season, as it crushed visiting Culpeper (2-4) in five innings 17-6. Jordi Estes had a banner day at the plate with a base clearing three-run homerun, a double and a single that resulted in three RBIs and a run scored.
The Foxes feasted off Blue Devil pitching with 12 hits, including RBIs from eight different hitters.
Thus far this season, the Foxes’ offense has amassed 57 runs in five games.

After dismantling Louisa 6-0 in a scrimmage earlier in the season, the Foxes have experienced an offensive surge that has resulted in three victories without a defeat. The following Foxes game information is results from the regular season:
On April 1, King George paid a special “April Fool’s Day” visit to Spotsylvania. After the Foxes gave up two early goals on free kicks to Knights player Lauren Luttell, to tie game at 2-2, they quickly made halftime adjustments. In the second half, the Foxes solved the Knights’ defensive setup to win 7-3.
“Great teamwork and possession in the second half, along with a standout performance from the KG defense and GK Kayla Childers led to an inspiring win,” Fox girls’ varsity head coach Dustin Pifer said.

Now that the spring sports season is here, the appeal of America’s favorite pastime has already fueled the interest of fans. Although the Foxes have lost games, the desire to finish on top after a 20-game season is ever present.
