Wrestling returns to King George Middle School

The last time a King George Middle School wrestler grappled with an opponent was six years ago. Now, nearly a month into the winter sports season, 34 KGMS wrestlers have experienced three tournaments, and a wealth of knowledge thanks to their head coach, Rick Buckwalter. Buckwalter, and King George High School wrestling head coach Paul Kraisser have successfully pursued the issue of resurrecting the middle school wrestling program in King George.

KGMS unveils school’s first volleyball team

The foundation is set, and mold for future Foxes volleyball stars will never be broken.

King George High School varsity basketball head coach Jill Wine is passionate about the game of volleyball. Rather than focus only on the development of the high school team during the off-season, she has stepped up to produce the Foxes’ first middle school volleyball team.

KG Middle School sports soar in fall sports season

As of Dec. 3, sports opportunities will enter a new phase of athletic awareness at King George Middle School. For the first time in the school’s history, the sports department will feature wrestling and volleyball alongside boys’ basketball. However, in light of the fall season sports programs’ success, the Foxes winter middle school participants will a tough mountain to climb if they are to surpass their classmates’ efforts.

On Friday, the Foxes girls’ cross-country program made history at the VHSL State 4A Cross-Country Championships, in The Plains.

King George Foxes foil Chargers, and regain swagger

The Foxes are back! After compiling 69 points and giving up 14 points over the course of two games, the Foxes (8-2) offense has shifted into swagger mode. Last Friday’s 27-0 shutout over Chancellor (1-9) is evidence of that. After a minor wake-up call from their 35-5 loss to the conference champion, Courtland, the Foxes varsity football team has become stronger on both sides of the ball. In short, they are in playoff mode!
Senior Jordi Estes savored his final regular season high school game with four interceptions, 94 rushing yards, and one touchdown.
