Virginia State Police is continuing its investigation into a two vehicle fatal crash

Virginia State Police is continuing its investigation into a two vehicle fatal crash on Route 3 approximately one-tenth of a mile east of Route 657 in King George County.
 


Shortly before 8:00 a.m.  on Wed. January 8, Virginia State Trooper D. R. Cox III, responded to the scene after the driver of a 2000 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Route 3 and crossed into the eastbound travel lane striking a 2009 Mack dump truck head-on.
 
The driver of the Honda, who was not wearing her safety belt, died at the scene.
 
The driver of the dump truck, who was not wearing his safety belt, was injured in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital.
 
Route 3 was closed to allow for the investigation.
 
The King George County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the on-going state police investigation.
 
Deceased Honda Driver:  Chandale E. Dillon, 18, 2000 block Dwight Avenue, Colonial Beach, Va.
Dump Truck Driver:  Mark W. Sampson, 48, 2000 block Fairgrounds Road, Maidens, Va.
