‘Gacek,’ the black and white feline, turns into the most visited attraction in Poland in 2023

AdminFebruary 22, 2023

A very well stray cat dwelling on a Polish city’s street has grown to be the city’s most popular tourist attraction.

Tourists visiting the mediaeval city of Szczecin are Googling up Gacek, a black and white tom cat, rather than historical sites and museums, according to the Daily Mail.

Tabby

Yet the tabby, who now has his own Instagram profile and a Google Maps section, has outdone them all with a near-perfect 5-star rating.

According to locals, Gacek, which means “long-eared bat” in Polish, was first seen on Kaszubska Street in downtown Szczecin ten years ago.

Today a trendy tabby cat is a tourist attraction

Gacekis is known to hang out with visitors who liked him and fed him, sweets. As a result, he grew into the fat cat he is today.

While there have been worries about his safety, and those who have contributed to his obesity have been chastised, it appears that the ‘King of Kaszubska Street’ is pleased to live in his wooden box outside a shop whose owners look after him.

A sign outside his residence asks passersby not to pet him when asleep and to reward him while he’s out and about.

Gacek has been characterised as a “fantastically attractive and excellent fellow,” yet he has a habit of scratching or stealing food when stressed.

Why Wrocław know as a cat city?

Gacek is a chubby stray cat that has become the top tourist attraction in the Polish city of Wrocław. This loveable feline can often be found lounging around the city’s main square, where he begs for food from passersby. While Gacek may not be the most graceful cat, his friendly personality has won him many fans, both local and out of town.

In recent years, Wrocław has become increasingly known as a “cat city,” thanks mainly to Gacek. If you’re ever in Wrocław, say hello to Gacek – he will make your visit more memorable!

Tourists share their experience

Several people have discussed their Gacek experiences, with one stating it was worth going three hours to be ignored by him. Another tourist travelled from Oslo to meet Gacek and was not upset when the cat missed them. But, not everyone was pleased, with one visitor expressing a preference for dogs and another alleging that Gacek had stolen a sausage.

Conclusion

There are fears that he may be overweight due to sweets offered by visitors, and also, the city’s animal shelter has asked residents not to feed him. Despite this, Gacek’s popularity has grown, and he has become a popular local attractionin feb 2023..
