Abstract
You season 4
Season 4, part 1 resolves several of Joe’s issues throughout the narrative. You follow Penn Badgley’s antihero Joe Goldberg as he obsesses over his victim. Despite his genuinely horrible actions, Joe’s “good guy” demeanour misleads viewers into sympathising with him. You leave the killing to an unknown murderer chasing Joe in Season 4, Part 1. While You season 4, part 1 appears to be giving Joe a second chance, the series is also finally beginning to provide Joe with a dose of his medication.
Joe problems
Joe has a habit of being paired with a larger evil guy, such as Henderson in You, season 2. Season 4 of You follows a similar course as the Eat The Rich murderer, who is more like Joe than he would care to acknowledge. Nevertheless, You season 4 does away with many of Joe’s signature activities from prior seasons, such as stealing his obsession stuff. Joe was excellent at convincing himself that he was doing everything correctly in You, season 1. Nevertheless, as his death count grows, Joe realises he may not be the “good man” he believes he is.
The Big Bang Theory
Joe was a great help to us during Big Bang Theory’s fourth season. We needed someone who could be in two places at once – how it felt with Sheldon’s girlfriend and birthday party – but also someone who could act as an anchor when things got too crazy.
Joe in season 4
Joe has appeared in every episode this season, though not always in a big way. There were times when he was just there to crack some jokes or offer advice to his friends when they needed it most. This made him the perfect choice for our top 5 list of favourite Joe moments from Season 4: 1) When he invited himself over for dinner (The Hofstadter Isation), 2) When he assisted Sheldon in overcoming bullying by another science student 3) Taking charge and winning the cosplay competition ($200)
A Joe doesn’t have to convince himself that he’s good
Joe deliberately avoids his previous behaviours and rejects his desire for Kate in Season 4, Part 1. In the first You season, Joe convinces himself that he is a wonderful guy performing these heinous acts for love. Joe begins to suspect that he is a wrong person in You, seasons 2 and 3. Despite his suspicions, he continues to pursue Love and Marienne.
