About Kate Gosselin
Star Kate Gosselin is an American television star. Kate rose to fame on the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which chronicled her life with then-husband Jon Gosselin and their eight children. Kate has also appeared on many reality competition series, including Dancing with the Stars and The Celebrity Apprentice.
Her Family
She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Charlene (née Kolak) and Kenton Kreider, a pastor. she has one brother, Kevin and three sisters, Kendra, Christen and Clairissa.
She became a registered nurse after completing a diploma program at the Reading Medical and hospital Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. Kate Gosselin then worked as a labour and delivery nurse in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.
On October 5, 1997, she met Jon Gosselin at a company picnic. On June 12, 1999, They were married, and on October 8, 2000, she gave birth to twin girls, Cara Nicole and Madelyn “Mady” Kate.
Television fame
Following the birth of the sextuplets, the Gosselins were featured in the NBC reality TV show when they renovated their home in Wyomissing to accommodate the large family.
Divorce
In an episode, Jon and Kate announced on June 22, 2009, that they were separating. Yet, the two had met with Pennsylvania lawyers on the day the episode aired to complete plans for divorce rather than separation.
Her reality Show career
On September 29, 2009, TLC announced the change in title of Jon & Kate Plus 8 to Kate Plus 8, on September 29, 2009, continuing to follow Gosselin as a divorced mother, with Jon infrequently appearing on the show going forwards.
The show was cancelled during season five following Jon’s decision to withdraw from the series, with the last episode – the season finale – airing on November 23 of that year. On November 28, 2010, Season 2 of Kate Plus 8 premiered, and reruns of the show still air on TLC.
Kate filmed a talk show pilot with Paula Deen in September 2009. By late December 2009, it announced that Gosselin was no longer being considered for the role, having been deemed “too controversial” by executives, and a network had not picked up the show by the ending year.
Personal life
Kate relocated to Troutman, in March 2021, North Carolina, with four children; Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel, who still live with her. The twins are both away at college in New York, with Cara attending Fordham University and Mady attending Syracuse University. Yet, Cara and Mady reside with their mother when they get home from their separate colleges. Meanwhile, Hannah and Collin stay with their father back in Pennsylvania. On June 30, 2021, She obtained her multi-state registered nurse license in North Carolina after the move.
In popular culture
Kate has become closely associated with the vernacular term known as Karen, and its “can-I-speak-to-your-manager” bob hairstyle, which Gosselin has worn.
