Paramount Pictures is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a re-release of James Cameron’s beloved classic, Titanic. Taking in an impressive $2.85M on Friday alone from 2,464 theaters across the nation – and expected to total at least 6.4M for the weekend – it has made quite a splash by landing itself firmly into third place! Unfortunately for Paramount their other movie 80 Brady isn’t doing too shabbily either as last week’s premiere saw them rake in nearly 19 million dollars–and after only one week they are already well ahead of expectations this second around with just shy of 1.7 million earned yesterday and looking towards 5 point six by Sunday evening!
Universal’s horror-thriller Knock at the Cabin, directed by renowned filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan and starring some of Hollywood’s rising stars, is sustaining strong success in its second week with a hefty drop of only 72% – considerably lower than prior hit Old from Mr. Shymalan which saw a 59% decrease in its sophomore weekend. The movie has already clocked $22M+ domestically after debuting to an impressive first week total of nearly $18M stateside!
